'Kimberley' was in India, between February 1941 and January 1944, under repair at Bombay dockyard after her stern was blown off by a torpedo fired by the 'U-77' whilst serving in the Mediterranean.
It may be an idea to ask for a copy of his service record - that will give you full details of where he served and when. Write to Ministry of Defence, Centurion Building, Grange Road, Gosport, Hants, PO13 9XA
