I hold a colour photograph of a jacket patch for UGANDA. The badge is described as: within a pentagon proper, a board containing three green maple leaves on a white field; below, the profile of a red Crested Crane highlighted in white on a white field.

The Crested Crane is the state bird of Uganda: it has a gold crest, a black face with white and red patches; and grey, black and red feathers.

I'll contact you directly and make arrangements to get a copy to you.

Do you know about the Uganda club, made up of former crew members? They plan a reunion this year in Thunder Bay.

Stephen Geneja who wrote the book "The Cruiser Uganda", Tyendinaga Publishers: Corbyville, ON, 1994, contains a photo of the badge just before the title page; and drawing on page 234. Both are in B&W.</HTML>
