I believe my grandfather served on this ship. I used to ask him about his time during the war but I was only about ten at the time (circa 1985). I do remember him telling me about two incidents. One when a German (pilot?) was kicked off the boat as he was shouting about how the Germans would win. The other time was when they were torpedoed. As it was a flat bottom boat the torpedo went right underneath them. My grandfather watched the torpedo come towards the ship. He worked on the radio I believe.
