I dont know much about the Suffolks operations in the Barent Sea. However, I do know that during around May 20th 1941 the Suffolk and her sister ship Norffolk were on patrol in The Denmark Straight when The German Battleship Bismark and German Pocket-Battleship ( I believe it was a Pocket Battle ship if not then it was a Heavy Crusier)Prinz Eugen past through The Denmark Straight before the Sinking Of The H.M.S. Hood. However The Bismark did not fire on ether ship because The Admiral serving on Bismark did not find the ships worthy of Bismarks attention. I also believe that it was The Bismarks Admirals judgement at the meeting with Suffolk And Norffolk that led to his meeting with Hood and ultimatly led the Bismark to disaster.
