Suggest you go to your local library and borrow a copy of The Canadian Naval Chronicle by Fraser McKee and Bob Darlington, St Catharines: Vanwell Publishing, 1996.
The story of the sinking of ST CROIX will be found on pages 102 to 105 which includes a list of all those men who were lost with her.
The story of her sinking U90 is on p 50.
For your information, cooks were not "officers". They were enlistd personnel.
