nick,i have to hand details of most of Vascama's movements for most of '43.I can fax them if you let me have a number.Photo i have showing sweepers in background seems to illustrate an ilses class [unidentified], a trawler wearing pennant no.167 [Hamlet]and one other [as yet unidentified].Of the six trawlers sent to the azores none of them was a Sheakespear, so i am of the opinion that the photo must be taken onboard Avola, maybe at Harwich.Digging through what correspondence i have from ex RNPS guys, one fella, Eddie Collier, states Vascama had had her aft mast removed while fitting out as an A/S vessel.Hope this is of some use.
