captains cabin clock

I just recieved a gift of a clock while in Victoria B.C. and it turns out there is some writing covered up on the back that says "CAPT'S CABIN" "966" and "MIRAMICI". I also found on the inside some dates Oct.26 1940, Sept.7 1952, and May 12,1971. Any ideas on this clock? Thanks
