Hi,

I have a specific question concerning an attack in WW2. Attack periscope Barr and Stroud CH4, distance of the target ship 4000 yards. Any idea whether the Commander of the sub reads the letters of the side of the ship? Understand it is not like reading a street sign on a sunny day, and hundred of factors play a role...Any idea? Example/cases? Thanks
