Hi,
Built by Cochrane and Son, Selby,in 1939 for Hudson Bros. Hull. port no. H135. Requisitioned Sept. 1939 and converted to an Anti Submarine trawler. Pennant no. FY270. 510grt before conversion 590 grt after. Engine 163hp. Armament 1x 4 inch.
Joined the 15th A/S strike force as leader based in Aberdeen. Inspected by HM Queen Elizabeth whilst along side at Aberdeen 1940. Took part in the Norwegian Campaign in April/May. Lost to A/C attack off Narvik 21/5/1940. I am sure a search of the web will give you more details on her loss.
Hudson Brothers formed in 1928 named all their vessels with a CAPE prefix e.g. Cape Trafalgar, Cape Spartel , etc.
The company was taken over by the Ross Group in 1960 but the CAPE names continued till 22/1/1965 when the ROSS prefix was adopted.

regards
Roger
