le Savorgnan de Brazza:
'Bougainville' class 'aviso' (sloop) built at Bordeaux, launched 18 June 1931.
1969/2600 tons 103.7m x 12.7m
diesel engines = 2 shafts/15 knots
armed: 3 x 5.5in, 4 x 37mm, 50 mines

In U.K. July 1940 and seized by Royal Navy at Portsmouth; manned by Free French from August 1940. Served south Atlantic 1940/ Indian Ocean 1941 / Rosyth escort force early 1942 / West Africa late 1942 / Far East 1944.

She sank her Vichy manned sister Bougainville in November 1940 off Libreville.

Remained in French service until scrapped March 1957
