Dear Josie
My name is Peter Vardos and I live in Australia. My father, Speros Vardoulakis, was a Petty Officer on the 'Adrias', including during the famous action in October 1943. My father migrated to Australia in 1950. He is 84 years old and has very vivid recollections of his war service, especially his time on the 'Adrias'.
Unfortunatley, he was recently diagnosed with cancer. At this point in time we have no sense of how much longer he will be with us.
However, I would be very happy to put questions to him on your behalf about the 'Adrias', including whether he knew/remembers your grandfather.
Happy to follow up as you wish.
Best wishes
Peter
