Can’t help with the Burza yet, but you might be interested to know about another occasion when Blyscawyka gave very effective a.a. fire while in port. The eyewitness account, by Lieutenant- Commander R.T. Farnsworth, RAN, appeared in the Naval Historical Review December 1974, and in it he describes an air raid on J Samuel White & Co shipyard at Cowes, Isle of Wight, where Lt-Com Farnsworth’s ship Quickmarch was being built. Blyscawyka was fitting out in the yard and …

‘… had a narrow escape when a bomb burst at the end of her gangway and lifted it over the ship, taking her mast with it. Only one man was killed, but she certainly saved Whites with her steady and accurate Bofors firing.’

No exact date is given but it was at the end of April, 1942.

Hope this is of some interest.

Regards,

Bruce
