Hello John,

If you mean HMS Jaguar (F34), the 'J' Class destroyer sunk by U-652 off Sollum, North Africa on 26 March 1942, she wasn't commissioned until September 1939. It appears that Lt Cdr John Franklin William HINE RN was her first CO (See [www.uboat.net]).
