John,
For a start, see entries for HMS Crocus and HMS Clarkia in the Allies section of this website, e.g.:
"HMS Crocus 11 Aug, 1942
The British merchant Vimeira is torpedoed and sunk about 500 nautical miles south-west of the Cape Verde Islands in position 10º03'N, 28º55'W by the German submarine U-109. HMS Crocus (T/Lt. J.F. Holm, RNR) later picks up 5 survivors."
"HMS Clarkia 15 Mar, 1942
HMS Clarkia (Lt.Cdr. F.J.G. Jones, RNR) picks up 4 survivors from the British tanker British Resource that was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U-124 north of Bermuda in position 36º04'N, 65º38'W."
There are also files relating to HMS Crocus in 1942 in the UK National Archives:

Best wishes,
