Hi, I am researching a Joseph Armstrong Watson who served as an Engineman RNR on HMT Arctic Explorer between 7 Dec 1941 and 12 Feb 1942. He was subsequently awarded a Mention In Dispatches in the London Gazette on 11 June 1942. I am trying to establish what it was for and as part of that quest it would be helpful to understand what the ship was doing during this period. His Service Record indicates the ship was a tender to "HMS Paris", which I understand was a former French ship acting as a minesweeper base in Plymouth. Any help appreciated.
