A trip from Germany to Cattaro, even rounding British Isles by the north route is far less than 7800 nm, so less than the maximum endurance of those submarines. I knew about Hersing's problems with the fuel he had received from the supply ship but I am not aware of any other similar experience with en route re-supplying.
Does someone knows such cases ?
