SS Justicia

<HTML>I have been researching the story of this vessel, where possible using primary sources including the logs of the escorts. While transcripts of UB124 prisoner accounts are available in the PRO London, I failed to find (despite Herculean efforts) an inquiry report into the sinking of Justicia. Given that both German submarines penetrated an escort screen of at least 17 ships to fire their torpedoes
(UB124 in particular was a boat on its maiden voyage with an inexperienced crew)
I am coming to the conclusion that the Admiralty expunged all mention of the Justicia affair from their records - exept scant details in thethe logs of HMS Pigeon, Marne, Millbrook and others. It is apparent from these records that the destroyer screen was not zig-zagging at any stage of the journey. It is also apparent that hydrophones were not being operated by the escorts even after UB64 had pressed home her attack.

At any rate if any of you experts out there could offer any further information regarding this mysterious affair, I would be very interested indeed.</HTML>
