Castell,
The Germans only had six long range torpedo attack boats plus one (later two) big minelaying boats in the Mediterranean and Black seas before November 1916 (U 21, 33, 34, 35, 38, 39 plus U 73, U 72 arrtived in late September 1916), so it was impossible to keep all areas patrolled at all times.
U 39 stayed off the Algerian coast in July 1916.
STELLA DELLA MARE (s/v), ANTIGOON - U 38
GORGONA (s/v) - U 34
U 34 was off the east coast of Spain in early November 1916.
