The attack actually took place within sight of Fast Castle near St Abbs Head, rather than the Firth of Forth. Maritime Historian/diver Bob Baird tells me that the wreck is now well broken up.

It is a fascinating story and you could say that modern warfare began here, off the wild red cliffs of Berwickshire.
Something else you may be interested in, the minesweeper HMS ASCOT was torpedoed off the Farne islands on this coast on 10th Nov 1918. The last warship to be sunk by torpedo in WW1. Also U1274 was sunk on 5th April 1945 off the Farnes, making her one of the last U boats to be sunk in British Home Waters.
