Hi Bruce,
though it seems the ship did not carry an official designation as trooper of hospital ship, her cargo was of interest.
She was en route London to Sydney, Australia with mails, medical supplies and staff and was intended to evacuate 1,000 wounded at Tilbury for repatriation to Australia.
In WWII such a vessel would have been designated an APH (transport fitted for the evacuation of the wounded but not a registered hospital ship).
