Clio,

A couple of points on this one: Obviously, UB 48 had a top commander. There was a Q-ship engagement on the 13th, then Steinbauer stalked Prize before torpedoing her (second shot, first was a miss, but unobserved) at 0325 on the 14th, 11 hours after the original engagment. The torpedo hit set of munitions on board... (all times German.)
