Re: correct u-boat names

Contemporary German official correspondence, war diaries etc. refer to U-boats as,instance, for U 9 or UB 87 . No dashes, dots or anything as far as I know. I personally often use the dash in texts merely to improve the flow of reading. That, however, seems to be an English innovation.
