Thanks!

The figures I have for 1914 are
UK – 1722154, Allied/Neutral 1694023

Assuming the Entente captured about 600,000 tons in 1914, then was the gain/loss something like this (some figures estimated)

Neutral and Entente Powers

Year……Captured……….Built………..Total
1914…….600,000…….3,416,177…..4,416,177
1915………..0…………2,230.000…..2,230,000
1916………..0…………4,001,000…..4,001,000
1917……1,100,100…...5,318,000…..6,418,000

Losses (war) – about 13,000,000
Total gain during war – about 4,000,000 tons (not including 1918 production).

Is this about ballpark (ie, within a million tons or so)? Also, I have the British merchant fleet in 1914 at 17.5 million tons – any info on fleet size (merchant) at the start of the war for the Entente/neutral powers, not including the Great Lakes?
