OK, found it. The boat involved was UC 47. At 9:25am he surfaced amid a group of fishing vessels and made the crew of a "Kutter" abandon ship. She could not sinking this vessel as an armed trawler was too near by.

Less than an hour later (10:20 am, German time), UC 47 stopped another "Kutter" and forced its crew to abandon ship. UC 47's KTB then states, "Boot schlaigt voll" -- the (life) boat capsized?

The KTB then states: "Versenkung nicht möglich, Kutter segelt ohne Besatzung gegen die Küste." — Sinking not possible, cutter sails without crew against the coast.

(Thanks to Roger Hollywood and Mick Forsyth for their assistance.)

Best wishes,
Michael
