Agreed. It would be impossible for the submarine in question to be U 30.
I suspect the Hastie U boat was not a U boat after all, but wishful thinking
U 30 may have been caught up in a net and post war the authorities (somewhat incredibly) linked the two incidents
Having said that I am always sceptical where auxiliary patrol claims are involved - with good reason.
