Hello Sam,
The only information a got is that the diving time on early GE- U-boats (+/- 1910-1912) was very long, with a average of around 7 (seven) minutes being required to reach a depht of 9 m. (From : U-Boats of the Kaiser's Navy by Gordon Williamson Ed. OSPREY). I suppose that during WW I they did it faster. WW II = average 20 Ã 30 sec. with a well trained (and stand by) crew.
If I find some more details I'll will e-mail it to you.
Regards,
Freddy.
