Hi Ron,
Many thanks for your excellent post on the above. I could not have asked for more. One query - you described the gunners as being DAMS gunners. Is this what they called them during WW1. My cousin was a DEMS gunner on board the Pinto during WW2 when she was torpedoed. I know it means Defence equipment merchant ships what does DAMS mean or is it a typing mistake.
