Hi,

Perhaps it was the Cunarder Ausona? She was torpedoed off the Irish coast 'while on a recent trip to England from a Canadian port' but made it to port safely. It was reproted in the Boston Daily Globe June 21, 1917.

Best I could find at the moment, but I'll keep looking.
