Visit and Search - Information Needed

Hi all,

I am looking for a thorough description or account (preferably in English) of how 'Visit and Search' was usually conducted in WWI. In particular I am interested in knowing the mechanics of how this was carried out, which u-boat crew members were tasked with this work and their respective roles and functions when a 'Visit and Search' was conducted. Any leads (books, articles, websites, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.
