Hallo Simon !

it was UB 87 (Kptlt. Petri) on 14.05.1918 which wasn't aware of the collision.

D 7 at 12.50h sighted an german submarine steering south-east in pos. 55°33‘N-08°15‘W, 2,5 miles away and at 13.28h started her approach, at 13.33h while at 22 ft. she was run over by UB 87 and both periscopes were bend, D 7 dived to 50 ft.

At 14.30h D 7 surfaced and sighted UB 87 one mile away, also heard Fessenden signals, UB 87 left the scene and D 7 lost contact.

In the german KTB you can find an entry that an british submarine surfaced at 15:50h (- 1 hour = 14:50h) in 068 gamma 4 which dived again. UB 87 stopped and made signals with her U.T. (Underwater Telegraphy) because she believed it was an german boat UBIII type, but later after getting no reply she left the scene.
