Lost Patrols: Submarine Wrecks Of The English Channel By Innes McCartney.
"U121 was the late-war class of U-cruiser/minelayers. She was launched on
20 Sept. 1918 and did not see war service. This submarine was to be sent
to the Mediterranean to be operated by the Austro-Hungarian Navy.
However, she was still in Germany at the end of the war. The new submarine
was transferred to the French Navy. In accordance with the Treaty of Versailles,
she was disposed of as a gunnery target on 1st July 1921.
The only positional data the author has been able to locate states that the
sinking took place off Cherbourg." Page 121
