Hi all, new member though I am a lurker for some time now.
I am doing a little research on early submarine warfare and having trouble locating a lot of detailed info on submarine warfare.
Some destroyers were equipped with a long loop of wire with attached explosives (a sweeping method)
Were these common on all destroyer classes.
Looking to see if the River E class of destroyers were ever equipped with such a device or if the class has any success in sinking a German Uboat? Was the class ever equipped with hydrophones and depth chargers.
I was wondering if the L class was ever equipped with such a wire loop to destroyer submarines? I found on this site (a list of sub fates) that a ship in the L class had destroyed a sub with 2 depth charges.
Thank you for your time and help.
