Apologies for not seeing your earlier posts until today. I had stopped looking after a few days and presumed I'd get an email notification if anyone posted a response.

I'm absolutley delighted to have received your email with the extract from the war diary. I didn't know such things existed and am amazed you found it after I'd sent you on a wild goose chase with the wrong "U" number.
