Hello,
The French LE CALVADOS was torpedoed on November 4th 1915 by the U-38: casualties 740 lost and more than 55 were rescued by the LADY PLYMOUTH … is generally said.
I was told that also the Belgian freighter WOLHANDEL (ex-GANDA or ITALIER) should have participated in this rescue operation.
Does anybody have heard about this or have any evidence ?
Many thanks,
Freddy.
