A good question indeed and one I don't have the answer too just yet!

Also regarding the list of barriers for U 71 you've given 5 positions - are they consequtive and therefore 4 barriers with start and end positions of:
56°52,5'N 01°24'W - 56°51,5'N 01°27,5'W;
56°51,5'N 01°27,5'W - 56°52,3'N 01°29'W;
56°52,3'N 01°29'W - 56°50,5'N 01°32,5'W; and
56°50,5'N 01°32,5'W - 56°51,7'N 01°36'W?
