Hello,

The Belgian officer (from de Merchant marine) named François Van Rysselberghe
(° Ostend 05.07.1870) received on the 21.05.1917 the British D.S.C. « For his good services in detecting enemy subjects and correspondence on neutral vessels when working with the Downs Bording Flotilla ». (Source : ADM 12/1588A – British Orders & Medals).
I don’t have more details about his career during W.W. I.; only that he was “Boarding officer” on board of a ship(s) of the Dover Patrol. What ship?

Any info about this man and/or his action during 1914-1918 would be much appreciated.
Regards,
Freddy.
