Martin,

I've just had a quick look. I'm not aware of a specific matching sinking claim, but U 87 was sunk with all hands on December 25, 1917 and would have roughly been in the area where St. Olaf was lost and thus is a possibility. The weather seems to have been nice,so likely not a factor.
