Hi John,
I can help with the war diary. How good is your your German? The sinking of the WHITE HEAD is well described in the war diary including results of the interrogation of the survivors. The ship broke in two after the torpedo struck amidships and went down within three minutes. Eight men were picked up by UC 74.
