<HTML>I was stunned by Frank\'s remark, and simply couldn\'t understand what he meant - what was more distressing about Yuri\'s posting than the rest of the postings on this page on the very same subject?

What causes me personally more \'concern and distress\' than anything is seeing the ridicule going on, the flaring tempers and personal attacks and name calling coming from grown men, attacks often based on a person\'s nationality, other times on his opinions. There\'s a huge difference between disagreeing with an opinion and calling someone childish or an idiot. Very often an initial posting gets twisted and misinterpreted until the original meaning of it is completely unrecognizable, even to the poster. Again and again the thought strikes me; no wonder we can\'t achieve peace in the world, if we can\'t even respect eachother on a discussion forum.

Another matter that concerns me is with regard to a young boy who often visits here, please be careful in your replies to him. Do we know if he has parents he can talk to? Is he even the type of chap who would approach his parents with his fears, and if he is, are his parents even of the type who would comfort him and ease his fears? Or does he go to his bed at night frightened out of his wits with nobody to talk to? He obviously admires the posters on this site, this is your chance to help instill good values and/or ease his fears - I don\'t mean by covering up the truth that war is cruel, but by remembering his age and what your reply might do to him.

I have specific reasons to come to this website and this forum, I do reserach on ships of WW II, therefore it follows that I need to learn about U-boats (there, now I can\'t be accused of being off topic!), if it weren\'t for that I\'d go back to my kitchen sink and stay there.
