Well, to a re-do these emblems, as they appeared on the boats cannot be considered a copyright issue in my view. It\'s not as if I photocopied the book and put it online, which would have been like 20-times faster to do.
Like if I re-draw the Mona Lisa that is my own \"clone\" or copy and not my own \"art\" but still might help a few more people to see it. Same with Hoegel, he compiled into one nice source emblems that we probably would not have seen en masse otherwise.
I re-drew each emblem from scratch, used Hoegel and many other sources as references but this was not a photocopy by any means. For one, all his emblems are in B&W while mine are in color.
I\'ve made some 155 of them using Freehand, pushed the more complex crests aside until I was more experienced with the whole process.
I have no problem with crediting Hoegel with his excellent work of course but I did not rip him off
