the hull of "Graf Spee" still lies in the mud at the River Platte estuary. The British Government purchased the wreck from the Uruguaian Goverment and dismantled all the superstructures.
Plates from Navy ships sunken before atomic age are much sought for producing medical equipment, especially shields. They are the ONLY radiation free steel available.
