<HTML>Hi Ben
After a brief research I found this:
"Late on 10 February (1945) another eight Seehunde sailed for the Thames-Scheldt
convoy route.Mechanical troubles caused three to return, and another from its billet on the 12th.Three operated as ordered, but their cruises were unproductive, and one of them vanished without trace.
A follow up against the same objective was carried out by five more Seehunde which set out from Ijmuiden late on the 12th.Once again one boat returned early because of defects, but three reached their billets, one of which attacked a convoy off the North Foreland on the 15th, badly damaging the 2,628-ton Dutch tanker Liseta.
One of the three failed to return, the cause of her loss being a mistery."
(Source:"The last year of the Kriegsmarine" by V.E. Tarrant)
"15 February Dutch tanker Liseta damaged off the North Foreland while in convoy TAM.80. At least two boats were lost in these sorties and several beached but recovered."

The conclusion is that SS Liseta wasn´t torpedoed by an U-boat but a German
midget submarine.
Best regards</HTML>
