<HTML>That is fine about trials etc and weights but Walker signalled 18knots to his group. Walker would not have signalled a speed he thought his group could not easily attain. On the speed point i think it is true that "published" speeds may not have been correct due to secrecy and or age of the ship. HMS Hood for instance was quoted as 32 knots max when she never attained more than 29 from 1925 onwards
but that was never quoted so to give the impression of the "mighty Hood"</HTML>
