The third photo is sure of U-84, and the two previous ones in my first post are
of U-406.
Regarding your question, I have to say you do not have any other source/evidence
about the flak modification of U-406 but the Niestle investigation.
This is a confusing matter as other sources state that U-406 was sunk by
the British frigate HMS Spey.
