<HTML>Vin, this ship may have been the Hohenfels, which was seized at Bandar Shapur 25/8/41 during operation "Countenance" by British and Commonwealth forces, which had landed in the Persian Gulf to capture enemy ships which had long been sheltering at Khor Musa, Bandar Shapur. A total of seven enemy ships were involved, five German vessels of the Hansa Line and two Italian. Three of the ships were scuttled, including the Hohenfels of Bremen. She was later raised and repaired, renamed Empire Kamal under MOWT. Built 1938 for Hansa Line of Bremen. She was a cargo liner, not a raider. In 1944 she was renamed Van Ruisdael under Dutch government control.
