<HTML>Hi all
Very well, you´ve pointed all the noticeable things included in this photo:
This photo is included in the book
"German U-BOAT Type VII; Grey Wolves of the Sea" by Heinz J- Nowarra
with this caption:
"Right: A Type VIIA boat being overhauled in port during the winter of 1939-40.The stern torpedo tube. mounted above the waterline, is easy to see"
This is what I´d found noticeable:
1) She has only a single after jumping wire
(We already have seen an U-Boat with double forward jumping wires)
2) She is a Type VIIA with turm 0 flak conning tower conversion
3) The after external torpedo tube is open and without its door
4) The torpedo fuse has been removed
5) The flag pole is placed at the stern instead in the wintergarten railing
6) There is a hose connected to the U-Boat providing electricity in order
to charge the batteries without running the boat´s own diesel engines
(see my previous post "This is what is noticeable")
7) And finally yes, it is cold, very very cold.
Here is another examples of an U-Boat with only a single after jumping wire(U29),
and a type VIIA (U30) with Turm 0:
