<HTML>Could be a guide lug. You have to have something on a torpedo to insure that it sits upright in the tube, as well as a stop in the tube to position it correctly fore and aft. This is necessary so that the shafts and sockets used for setting gyro angles, depth, speed, etc., will line up correctly. You can see a similar guide lug on an American Mark 14 being loaded aboard Cod at [www.usscod.org]

It's clearest in the shot inside the foreward torpedo room, though you do have to look close.
