<HTML>Hi Visje and Antonio,

Visje, your pic is definetly showing U-625 (OLsZ Siegfried Straub) as the first pair of depht charges released at 17H.40 on 10 March 1944 by Sunderland "U" of 422 Sqn RCAF, piloted by Flight Lieutenant S.W. Butler explode very near of her stern. The resulting explosion rips off one of her rudders, which can be seen flying over the conning tower in an other picture. U-625 then settles by the stern, her crew leaving her aboard their dinghies (Your second pic, Antonio). Tragically, not a single man of this boat was saved, though at least 22 are documented floating grouped together in their one man dinghies.

A sequence of 4 pictures from this sinking is published in this title:

Bowyer, Chaz (1976), Sunderland at War, Ian Allan, p. 97-99.

ISBN 0 7110 0665 2-11074.

Cheers
