Here´s another u-boat pic trivia.

This is not trivia;
I see a noticeable thing in this pic.Despite being at navigation there is a "single"
(I mean it isn´t the usual foredeck liferaft container row in late conventional u-boats)hatch opened.
What this hatch is for?
Why it would be opened at navigation?
