<HTML>I have a deathnotice of Herbert Bechtel, Oberfähnrich zur See, who died at the age of 20 on 29 February 1944. Curious is: ' unter selbstosem, persönlichem Einstatz seines Lebens, fand er beim Rettung Schiffsbrüchiger..den Seemanstod'.

His parents were Eduard and Katharina, geboren Linn.

Well, it would be very coincidental, but one never knows...
